Is there such thing as "the best grass" for my lawn?
The lawn by which all other lawns are judged is what is known as Kentucky bluegrass. It's characterized by a deep blue/green color and fine texture. It's durable, and beautiful. It's very tolerant to the cold, and recovers quickly from cutting or abuse. It is also very drought resistant - going dormant during the dry weather, it quickly regains its color and vitality when there is sufficient water available.
You can typically find this type of grass on golf fairways, athletic fields, parks, or anywhere a dense turf is the desired outcome.
Pro Tip: When mowed at higher levels (2.5 - 3 inches) it hinders weeds from forming!
